Pacific Explorer 2005, the brilliant international stamp exhibition,
has concluded with more than 20,000 people from around the world
attended the Expo, enjoying stamp exhibitions, competitions and
launches.
The Expo offered many attractions including:
- new stamp innovations from Australia
Post
- over 100 trade stands from 34 different
countries
- the Tapling Collection, one of the world’s
oldest and greatest philatelic collections
- a high-roller record was set for Australia
with a single sale of over $500,000, achieved by a local dealer.
“The Expo was a great success and I was proud to be a part
of such a multinational meeting of like-minded collectors,”
said Mr David Beech, Head of Philatelic Collections at the British
Library and custodian of the Tapling collection.
The Australia Post Grand Prix - the ultimate prize for an exhibitor
- was won by George Kramer from the USA for his exhibit of United
States Domestic Mail 1776-1869 which achieved an almost perfect
score of 98 points.

to support Pacific Explorer World Stamp Expo this year, and our
congratulations go to all of the participants and exhibitors”
